18 Years of Rejoicing Spirits!
In October 2026, the ministry of Rejoicing Spirits celebrated its 18th Anniversary! For the past eighteen years, this ministry has nourished the souls of our church and community members with developmental disabilities, their families, and caregivers. What an incredible testament to God's faithfulness that this ministry has continued to bless and encourage those in our community with special needs, and what a joy it is to be part of such a loving community!
What is Rejoicing Spirits?
On the first Sunday of every month, at 4:00 PM, we have a worship service designed to engage individuals with developmental disabilities.
The goal is to reach out and encourage people with developmental disabilities to become part of a faith community. The service is adapted to engage the attention and interest of individuals with special needs along with their caregivers, families, and other supportive members in the community. The environment is accepting and welcoming to all children of God.

Sharon Post, Rejoicing Spirits Ministry Program Director, says, "There are many reasons for local residents to join in this faith experience, including lots of music and joyous singing; brief, meaningful messages; and the opportunity to participate in a no-'shushing' environment. All faiths are welcomed to this love-filled community."
The principle of including all individuals into one community comes from the Bible verse, "So that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other." (1 Corinthians 12:25)
A priority to everyone involved in the Rejoicing Spirits ministry is to overlook each other's differences and instead value all people as one body. The service is a great example of overcoming prejudice and instead creating unity.
