Our Story

How it all started...

Early in 1937, five families met with the Pastor of the First Church of God in Jamestown to request that a church be planted  in Busti. That summer a youth camp was utilized in the pasture behind where  Terrie Larson now lives. For 2 years the church met in the homes of John Larson and Emil Hazeltine. In 1940, The church began meeting on Mill road in a home that had been converted into a church.

In 1951 the church purchased land and constructed a building on Southwestern Drive, which was completed and  dedicated in 1955.

Expanding the vision...

We  outgrew our original building, which led to the purchase of 18 acres on Forest Ave. On Easter Sunday in 1983, we held our first service in our current facility. In 2006, construction began on a Family Life Center that was ultimately completed and dedicated in 2009.  Not only have we been able to expand our reach with this facility, but it has become a bridge to our community.

Where we are headed...

Every church around the world was starkly reminded in 2020 that the church is not a building. It is actually made up of fully devoted followers of Jesus who are deployed to serve our surrounding community, and ultimately the world in which we live.

Prior to the pandemic, we were a physical church with a digital presence. However, COVID-19 reminded us that the majority of the world is online, and therefore we need to find greater ways to leverage digital means to share the good news of the Gospel.

So while our physical facility is a useful ministry tool that we willingly share with our community, we are now focused on being a digital church with a physical presence. We are investing in helping you and others discover the best that God has for you.
